Over the Valentine’s/President’s day weekend we mostly just hung out together. Here are a few of the memories that I’d like to preserve:
Valentine’s Day was perfect. The fam spent the whole day together and had naps, flowers and chocolate!
On Sunday, Jaycey gave a talk in Primary. After she was finished, I started to walk back to our seats and she turned and got back up on the stand and said “Thank You” into the microphone. She’s definitely not a shy one! The Primary Presidency liked her talk well enough they asked if she would give it as part of the program. What will she say in Sacrament? Hmm. Also, we went back to the Stake Center on one last futile effort to find my ring. No luck, it’s really gone.
We visited Mom and Dad on Monday. Some of the highlights were:
· Me and mom burning quesadillas for lunch and laughing the whole time. (They were still delicious!)
· Mom and the girls making crowns and wands with lots and lots of colored glitter and puff glue.
· The Wii!
· Kids running and laughing and playing.
· As we were leaving, Jaycey calls out to Mom: Bye Grandma! I’ll sleep over next time.
· Less than 5 minutes after we had left, all three of the girls started saying how much they missed their Grammy.
One other fun little tidbit; on Monday night, Brian and I asked Jaycey to tell us a story. This was a little diversion scheme to keep her away from her sisters long enough for them to read. Anyway, she didn’t really come up with much of a story line, but she had a wonderful cast of characters. Our favorites were the evil step-sister’s three evil friends. They were: Beasty, Yeasty and Leasty. We were laughing so hard that the diversion didn’t work out so well. The two older ones had to come and find out what was going on. Of course, Jaycey was just looking at us with her cute, little confused face, like “What?”.
