Forbidden Flowers and Unwritten Rules

If you've ever seen any of my girls, you know I love to do their hair. My latest craze has to do with the flower bows. I absolutely love them. You can do a ponytail, stick a flower bow in their hair and it looks great! Well, the other day I was informed by my sweet Ryeley that I could no longer put flowers in her hair. She says the bees follow her during recess and land on her flower! I guess we'll have to wait for winter before we can go back to flower bows!

The other day, I took Jaycey to the bathroom. She is potty trained, but has only been for a few months. So, as soon as I set her on the potty I told her she was a good girl. She looked up at me and said, "Mom, you can't say I'm a good girl. You have to wait until I'm finished and flush the potty. Then, you say good girl. That's the rule." I just burst out laughing. Now I know the unwritten "Good Girl" rule!

What is a friend?

If you want to have an easy life, don't, I repeat DON'T ask your Heavenly Father to help you have more faith! Well, that's what I asked for and my prayers have been answered. I've been given quite a few opportunities to develop faith and it's been wearing on me. Not that anything disasterous has happened, but I've been given some things that are difficult for me to handle. I feel like I've grown in the last few weeks but sometimes the little things can make all the difference in the world.

My friend and I are doing a calling together. Actually, we've done a few callings together, so we know each other fairly well. We decided to have a fast for help with our calling. They day before we fasted she came up to me and gave me a great big hug and told me that she loved me. How sweet is that? I needed that hug. Then, the next day I asked her what her thoughts were about our calling. She looked down and said that she didn't exactly fast for that . . . instead she fasted for me. She said she felt I had been struggling and needed it. Wow, talk about an answer to a prayer.

I've been thinking a lot about that. So many times I see someone that I love that is struggling with something. I often times feel helpless because I think that there isn't really anything that I can do. This week I was taught that there is something I can do. I can ask Heavenly Father to help them. I can exercise faith on their behalf, for them. Isn't that what loving each other is all about? So, thank you to my sweet friend for helping me to develop my faith and for supporting me when I needed it most.

Welcome to the world of blogging!

I figured out facebook (finally) and decided to try blogging. Of course, my theme surrounds our three beautiful little girls. Hayley (8), Ryeley (7) and Jaycey (3). It's been a whirlwind at our house the past two weeks. Hayley and Ryeley started school and ballet. Gathering all of the necessities for both adds up fast! Brian and Jaycey are always the little busy bodies taking care of the most important stuff: home. I also started my last semester of school. This semester is all about the research. I'll be so glad to finish off this degree and get back to life.
